INTRODUCTION:

Thanks for choosing Billy Boat Exhaust for your Porsche Cayman S.  This high-performance exhaust system is absolutely state-of-the-art, employing the finest materials and craftsmanship available.  Installation is a direct replacement of the factory equipment and shouldn’t take much more than one hour to perform.  If you have questions regarding installation, please call our Toll-Free Tech Line: 888-228-7435.

REQUIRED MATERIALS:

Factory exhaust manifold gasket kit

WD-40

INSTALLATION:

  1. Disconnect negative(-) battery terminal
  2. Lift front of car and support in appropriate locations with jack stands (consult owner’s manual), set emergency brake and chock wheels.
  3. Note factory mounting configuration – installation of the Billy Boat Exhaust header is simply the inverse.
  4. Begin to remove the factory header by removing the (8) bolts holding the primary flange and the (6) nuts holding the secondary flange together. After all hardware is removed work the. It may help to saturate mounting points and hardware with WD-40 to penetrate corrosion.
  5. With the factory header removed, inspect the original gaskets. They are reusable, however use your best judgment, now is a good time to replace them with new factory gaskets.
  6. Install headers to cylinder head.
  7. Start the car and listen for any exhaust leaks or rattles. After ensuring that there are no leaks or rattles go for a drive and listen for rattles over rough surfaces.  After 500 miles re-torque your work to ensure all mounts are secure.
  8. Take a drive and enjoy your work and new Billy Boat Exhaust system. To keep the exhaust system clean use Simple Green or other natural solvents to clean off road debris.

  • Do not smoke or use flammable items near or around the fuel system.
  • Use chemicals and cleaners only in well-ventilated areas.
  • Batteries can produce explosive hydrogen gas which can cause personal injury. Do not allow flames, sparks or flammable sources to come near the battery.
  • Keep hands and any other objects away from the radiator fan blades.
  • Keep yourself and your clothing away from moving parts when the engine is running.
  • Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry that can be caught in rotating or moving parts.

VEHICLE SUPPORT WARNING: Should the purchaser decide to install this exhaust product at home, be warned that car or light duty truck/van “bumper” jacks are intended for emergency use only. The use of frame contact jack stands in conjunction with a floor jack as main support is highly recommended to minimize accidental dropping of a vehicle while the installation proceeds. We recommend the use of a shop hoist if possible. Please use caution!
