Product Details

Chevy C6 Corvette Fusion Axle Back Exhaust System for factory NPP. Inc Grand Sport. (Oval Tips) #FCOR-0559

Billy Boat has combined the best of the Bullet exhaust with the best technology from the factory to give you the C6 / Z06, C5 and C4 Fusion Exhaust NO-DRONE System for your Corvette. Utilizing the same exhaust control valve as the factory system, you get a “Dr. Jekyll” cruising sound, and release the “Mr. Hyde” Bullet Exhaust sound when you want!

How loud is it?

Through our development and customer feedback, we have shortened the muffler, making the “loud” side of the muffler “louder”, which results in a tone similar to the famous Bullet system.  In the closed position, the tone would be slightly louder than the standard Route 66 system.

What controls the valves?

The butterfly is controlled by a vacuum valve for non-NPP C6’s, as well as the C4 and C5 Fusion exhausts–which we built and developed completely in house.  On the Z06 and the 2008 C6 with the NPP option, this valve is controlled by the ECU.  The valve opens based on RPM and throttle position.  The problem is the factory exhaust is very quiet, even with the valve open.  Our expertise here at B&B is getting the “tone” right for your Corvette, and we think we nailed this one.  Even in the closed position, the tone is deeper, louder, and more aggressive.  Open the valves, the overall volume and tone increases to the point heads will turn when you drive up.

*Add our FCOR-0468 conversion kit for Corvette models without factory NPP controls. The kits comes complete with all the wiring, remote switch, vacuum line, vacuum accumulator, and vacuum switch needed for installation. Can only be ordered with Fusion Exhaust Systems.

What’s the difference between our exhaust systems?

FUSION Exhaust – NPP Controlled Bi-Modal…Aggressive when Open, Mild when Closed

Billy Boat Exhaust has designed a Fusion NO-DRONE exhaust for the factory NPP and the non-NPP C6 Corvette. On C6 with the NPP option, the butterfly valve in the exhaust is controlled by the ECU. The valve opens based on RPM and throttle position. Our expertise here at BBE is getting the “tone” right for your Corvette, and we think we nailed this one.

PRT Exhaust – Aggressive Sound at Wide-Open-Throttle, Mild sound at cruise

The Billy Boat Exhaust PRT C6 exhaust system is the latest in resonance control technology from BBE. Completely redesigned and reengineered for the C6, the system is simple in design, though more complex in theory. You can now have a mellow NO-DRONE sound at cruising speeds and a sport note when you’re tearing up the streets. It allows true straight through exhaust passage under aggressive driving conditions, though a mellow sound is emitted at cruising speeds thanks to the unique Purge Chamber. Designed especially for the automatic, paddle shift and cars with headers, this Billy Boat Exhaust PRT system works purely on physics and adrenaline. Increases of 15 hp and 14 ft lbs over stock.

BULLET Exhaust – Aggressive Sound

Billy Boat Exhaust has created a deep, healthy exhaust note at low RPMs with an assertive muscle car roar on acceleration. Not for the weak at heart, the Bullet has quickly become the industry standard for a deep, aggressive muscle car sound on the C6. You can see up to 18 rear wheel horse power and 17 foot pounds of torque from the Bullet. Billy Boat Exhaust’s boldest tip style and configuration insures the C6 will scream ”muscle car”.

With proper installation your new Billy Boat Exhaust system will last a lifetime. While installation of this product is very simple and straight forward, there are a couple areas that need some attention.

#1- Secure vehicle to wheel lift.

#2- With the car safely lifted and chocked remove the nuts and bolts that hold the roll bar and lower the anti-roll bar from the center chassis mounts. It is not necessary to completely remove the bar; it just needs to be moved in order to get the axle hoops out.

#3- Unbolt the flanges located at the front of the factory center pipe. Then remove the nuts that are holding the spring hangers at the rear of the center pipes. Loosen clamps on rear of center pipe. Pull center pipe back off the donuts at the front of the exhaust system. Lower center pipe down and pull forward off the front of the mufflers and set aside.

#4- To remove the mufflers, pull the hangers through the rubber mounts and lower the mufflers down and unwrap from over the axle. You may have to move the mufflers to one side or the other to get them out. (Note: remove drivers side first to allow room to remove the passenger side. When removing system be careful not to damage electronic components located on passenger side frame rail).

#5- Position the new muffler/axle hoop system into place. Then insert the mounting hook into the factory rubber hanger. Mate the muffler/axle hoop system to the PRT center muffler in the reverse order of removal and just tighten hardware enough to still allow for movement while aligning the system. *But do not tighten them completely. Make sure that the gussets are pointed up towards the bottom of the car.)

#6- With all components in place, use a straight edge along the bottom of the tips for proper alignment. Keeping in mind that it will take some time to align them correctly

#7- Then start by tightening the flanges in front of the system first and then the nuts, bolts and clamps connecting the muffler sections making sure everything is still in alignment.

#8- Fire the car up and take it for a spin around the block making sure there are no rattles.

#9- After logging on a few hundred miles re-torque your work.
