First, disconnect the NEG (-) battery terminal. Disconnecting power from your vehicle may allow the computer to “clear” its memory during installation.
Now, Remove the factory exhaust system by removing one side at a time. Start by removing the (3) nuts at the header flange. Loosen the band clamp near the catalytic converter. Loosen the tip clamps. Remove Tip. Remove one side of the existing exhaust system by pulling down on the muffler and sliding exhaust pipe over the rear axle. Remove the band clamp hanger.
Use the same procedure for the other side.
Do everything in reverse order of removal of existing system.
Note: If installing new headers and muffler system, the rear O2 sensor wire must be rerouted to the O2 sensor bung near the catalytic converter
Reconnect the battery NEG (-) terminal. Start vehicle.
With the vehicle running at an idle, check for exhaust leaks at each connection. If there is a leak check that the mounting hardware is tight. If so, check the gasket for wear and replace as necessary.
